Child Safety Standards
NearMatch · Mohamed said Raoudh
NearMatch is a dating app for adults. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form. These standards apply to everyone who uses NearMatch and to everything shared on it: profiles, photos and messages.
Adults only
- You must be 18 or older to use NearMatch. We ask for your date of birth when you create your profile, and anyone under 18 is refused.
- An account that appears to belong to someone under 18 is removed. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
What is forbidden
It is strictly forbidden to use NearMatch to:
- share, request or link to child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including drawn, generated or edited images;
- groom, sexualise, solicit, sextort or traffic a minor, or try to meet a minor;
- pretend to be a minor, or present anyone as a minor, in a sexual context;
- help, encourage or promote any of the above.
How to report
- In the app: on the person's profile or in your conversation, tap the flag icon, choose Report, then "May be under 18" or the reason that fits. You can add details. The person is not told who reported them.
- By email: write to [email protected]. Describe what you saw and where. Never attach or forward images of abuse: describe them instead.
- If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police or emergency services first.
What we do
- Our moderators review every report, starting with those about a minor or about abuse material, and act within 24 hours.
- We remove the content, ban the account, and stop that person from opening a new one.
- We report apparent child sexual abuse material and exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the competent authorities, as the law requires, and we keep the evidence they need.
- Every photo is checked automatically before anyone can see it, and names, bios and messages are filtered against a list of prohibited terms.
Child safety contact
Our designated contact for child safety, for users, organisations and authorities, is [email protected]. It is read by the people who can act on a report, and we cooperate with requests from law enforcement.
